Updated 5 August 2026

This site no longer operates a newsletter, so the sections below describing tracking pixels and click-tracked links in email no longer apply and have been withdrawn. The site sets no cookies at all unless you accept analytics in the banner, and no marketing or advertising cookies in any circumstance.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the website owner. The ePrivacy Directive, GDPR, and similar laws require websites to inform users about cookies and, in most cases, obtain consent for non-essential ones.

2. What cookies and similar technologies we use

We keep our use of cookies minimal and purposeful. The categories we use are:

Strictly necessary

These cookies are essential for the Site to function. They are set automatically and cannot be declined without disabling core functionality. Examples include cookies that remember whether you have acknowledged our cookie banner, and session cookies used when submitting a form.

Analytics (consent-based)

We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-MT2LMPHNW9) to measure aggregate site traffic, page views, referrers, approximate country, device type. The tag is installed with Google Consent Mode v2, configured so that all storage categories (analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization) default to denied. Until you accept via the cookie banner, no analytics cookies are set and no persistent identifiers are retained; Google receives only cookieless pings for basic aggregation.

On our instance, Google Signals and ad-personalisation signals are disabled at the configuration level, that is, the cross-device and advertising features of GA4 are turned off regardless of your consent choice. If you accept analytics, the standard Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_MT2LMPHNW9) are set with a 2-year expiry.

You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Manage cookies" at the bottom of any page, by clearing cookies for this domain in your browser, or by using your browser's Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control setting where supported.

Third-party fonts

We load typefaces from Google Fonts. Google may log the IP address of the requesting browser. We use preconnect hints to optimise loading; we do not use Google Fonts for any tracking or profiling purpose beyond the standard font-delivery request.

Email tracking pixels

<

What we do not use

  • No advertising cookies, no retargeting pixels, no cross-site trackers.
  • No social media share-button trackers that load before you click.
  • No session-replay tools that record mouse movements or keystrokes.
  • No fingerprinting libraries.

3. How to manage cookies

You can manage or withdraw consent at any time:

  • Use the cookie banner on your next visit to adjust consent.
  • Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Most browsers let you block all cookies, accept first-party only, or clear cookies on exit.
  • Use "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signals; we respect these signals as equivalent to a request to disable non-essential tracking.

4. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if our tools or practices change. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the current version.
